I currently work as communications advisor in the Communications & Development team at DutchCulture. Since 2020, I have experienced many positions within the organisation from maintaining the TransArtists database to performing the secretary role for EUNIC Netherlands; a network organisation devoted to demonstrating and promoting European cultural diversity and exchange. My last task also involved working as a country advisor for Turkiye, meaning that I advised makers, organisations and state actors on how to collaborate with the cultural scene in Turkey, and made various programmes around Turkey-related themes. Currently growing in my communications role, my responsibilities consist of designing long-term strategies for communications on behalf of the DutchCulture and TransArtists brands.
I hold a BA degree in Public Administration with a minor in Arts Management from Yeditepe University in Istanbul, and an MA degree in Innovation and Organization of Culture and the Arts from the University of Bologna in Italy. Besides my responsibilities at DutchCulture, I also work as an international cultural project manager and programme maker on freelance basis. Currently, I am working on my own project The Third Wave, a series of thematic events focusing on new wave immigration movements from Turkey to Europe and their way of consuming popular culture. When I have time and energy left, I am an on-demand DJ, and like to produce music with all-DIY aesthetics, in which I either write simple punk songs or combine Turkish pop culture with personal elements based on the experience of living in the Netherlands. I also have my radio show with the same title on Rotterdam's very own Radio WORM.
